Pics of the Nautilus
I found these pics when I was doing a search for technology I can pull in for the Journals of Thomas Book series.
New Thomas Book Covers
I'm at it again. I can't stop from playing with creating a few pieces of 'Cover Art'. The new face of Thomas Book is a 1920's - 1930's pulp style of fiction so I'm trying to push things more in that theme. This new cover represents the first adventure (journal) of Thomas Book; "The Jade Dragon".
The first version of the cover has a cool shadow effect but is still legible. I'm not sure if I like this version better than the other, more simple version.
Each of the adventures will be a new journal and based on his own notes about what happened when he was out and about on his travels.

The Pilgrims
I've been playing with this idea for a pseudo-secret society (Masonic-like) that was created by the sons of the Founding Fathers; called Pilgrims.
They are tied to commerce and politics and have an ultra-conservative agenda similar to Opus Dei.
and then it hit me - what if they were in collusion.
The logic is that they are a good-old boy's club within the Washington Beltway that likes to keep things controlled.
all power within the country is linked to those men and their families.
I have a copy of the Declaration and I've been looking up those family names and their links - how many presidents Can't trace their lineage to those families.One of the odd things around DC are huge stone bridges that were constructed by various 'Families'.
A few of them, in my world, has small plaques with the pilgrim's glyph on it.
Under those bridges are doors, huge old 1950 Atomic blast doors.
they were made as emergency bomb shelters for Pilgrims and their families during the height of the cold war incase it was necessary to go to ground so that the 'right' people could come back.
Actually they're just access doors for 'whatever', but I think it would be more interesting to have them as shelters. Most of the bridges are built in parks around which the families have settled.
So a combination of the bunkers, the families, American Divine Right, and Opus Dei and stirr them around to see what happens.
